Microstructure and tensile properties of microalloyed Zn-xMg alloys

Abstract Zn-xMg alloys with different Mg contents were prepared by adding the element to pure Zn. The effects of on microstructure and tensile properties studied scanning electron microscopy, XRD ray diffractometer, test. results show that Zn is composed coarse grains, there are twins in morphology. diffraction peak mainly β-Zn. After element, α-Mg, 2 11 , peaks appear pattern. With increase content alloy, number increases. It found strength plasticity alloy content. fracture morphology rock or without has obvious brittle characteristics.
